Why she is cool: Gro Harlem Brundtland chaired the so-called Brundtland Commission on the Environment and Development. Its report “Our Common Future” is credited for developing the broad concept of sustainable development. Brundltand is also one of the three chairwomen of the Road to Copenhagen initiative.
Cool facts: Gro Harlem Brundtland is a Norwegian politician and international civil servant. She has served as Prime Minister of Norway, the Director-General of the WHO (World Health Organization) and is UN Special Envoy on Climate Change.
She is a member of the Club of Madrid and a founding member of the Elders with among others Kofi Annan, Mikhail Gorbachev and Nelson Mandela.Cool Friends
